Have you ever worried about what others think of you? How did it affect your actions or decisions? Share a personal experience and use hypophora at least once in your response.

Prompt Response: Does bullying affect peoples actions in deeper ways? Every year in middle school there was a school talent show. People could get up on stage, in groups or individually, and show their skills. One year, I wanted to go up and perform a dance with my friends. However, I was afraid of what people would think of me. This is because that year people were being rude to me, so it got in my head. Due to these feelings about what others would think, I decided not to go on stage. My friends went and performed the dance, and everyone cheered. I thought to myself, if I had not been thinking about what those people said about me I would have performed at the talent show.

Reflection: Today in class we went over hypophora and rhetorical questions.

Summary: I learned how to create a hypophora and use it in my writing. I also learned how to properly use a rhetorical question and make sure that it has an implied answer.

Think about the word or phrase you find yourself using the most right now. What is it, what does it mean, and why has it become part of your everyday vocabulary? Explain when you typically use it and what your choice of this word or phrase might reveal about you.

Think about a time when you made a claim or gave an opinion, but someone asked you, “Why?” or “How do you know?” Describe the situation. What evidence did you use to support your point, and why is explaining your evidence just as important as providing it?

Write about a fear you have overcome.
