Consider the following statement: "We spend more time connecting online but less time connecting in person." Do you agree or disagree with this antithesis? Explain your perspective using personal experiences. Discuss how technology has influenced the way people communicate and build relationships. In your response, include at least one original example of antithesis.

Prompt Response: I agree with this antithesis to an extent. For some people, the increase of technology has led to them spending more time online instead of connecting with others in person. This is because even though technology may decrease people's social interactions in person, it can also increase interactions as a whole. Certain people struggle to connect to people near them and rely on technology to make connections. I personally have a group I connect with, so this antithesis does not apply to me individually. Technology definitely has made the way connections develop change. This is because it's easier to make and maintain friendships because nobody how far someone is, they can always be a close phone call away.

Reflection: Today in class we went over two more rhetorical devices.

Summary: I learned how to utilize antithesis in my writing. I also learned how to identify when an author is using antithesis, and how to know which words connect to it.
